Internet forums can be a scary place, full of unfamiliar people and terminology, but they don’t have to be if you understand how to use them and follow the rules. The purpose of the forums is to connect users on a deeper level through public communication. There’s a ton of information already published in the forums and no shortage of knowledgeable people ready to answer questions that haven’t been asked before.
Using the Forums

- Be sure to read the forum rules before you post. Moderators do patrol the forums to ensure the rules are being followed: http://www.modelmayhem.com/help/rules/forums
- Click on the name of a forum you think you want to read through or post in, this will open the view to see threads, the places where people post replies to talk to each other.
- Read any additional rules posted at the top of the forum.
- To read a thread, click on a thread link to enter the thread and read the replies.
- To reply to a thread, hit the reply link at the top or bottom of the page.
- This will open a new page where you can type your response.
- Alternatively, you can click “Quote” to quote someone else’s post to respond directly to that reply.
- This will open a page with the other person’s post quoted as a part of your reply.
- Once you have entered your thoughts into a post, you can always change it later by clicking the Edit link. This will allow you to change your post.
- You can also use Link to get a direct link to any post in a thread.
